"Art or Madness: A little theory of perception" is a forthcoming book by Donnie Ross which examines the hypothesis that perception is a matter of projection of stored time-frames triggered by context-sensitive sensory input, rather than moment-by-moment interpretation of incoming information. A further linked hypothesis is described, proposing that ambiguity is diminished through a specific inhibitory process, and when the latter is impaired by pathology or drugs, hallucinations or psychosis result. I hope to complete this work during April 2015.
